Cléa Galhano to Receive ARS Presidential Special Honor Award
The ARS Presidential Special Honor Award is intended to honor a person who has had a significant positive impact on the ARS, the Board, or recorder music in North America. Brazilian recorder player Cléa Galhano, a longtime ARS member who has served on its Board, is an internationally renowned performer of early, contemporary and Brazilian music — which is why ARS Board President Carol Mishler chose her for this well-deserved honor. It will be presented to Galhano at the Boston Early Music Festival at the Recorder Relay Concert on June 9, 2023.

Clea Galhano is a fiscal year 2021 recipient of a Creative Support for Individuals grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board. This activity is made possible by the voters of Minnesota through a grant from the Minnesota State Arts Board, thanks to a legislative appropriation by the Minnesota State Legislature; and by a great from the National Endowment for the Arts.
